About

Julianne Lerdalen

The abstract visual language in my works, is a direct transfer from my heart, a form of reflection through the mediums I work with. However, I’m mainly working with acrylic paint, pastels, spraypaint, putty compound for making textures and I often work in layers. I’m trying to create tactility by texture and depth through denominations. The substrate is ether a canvas, paper or fabric, but I also work with macro-photography by catching movement and light.

The fascination through the dreamlike is what captures me artistically. The immediate, through diagonal movements, where the speed of the brush creates something intuitive, yet an extension of inner feelings.

My works are my way back into existing as a human being. Through several years in an intense working life, and several episodes of burnout, art has been a liberation and a rescue.
